LONDON — H.I.G. Europe, the European arm of global private equity firm H.I.G. Capital, has announced that funds advised by H.I.G. European Capital Partners LLP and its debt affiliate, Bayside Capital, have acquired Bezier, the UK’s largest provider of integrated point of sale marketing services. The transaction was facilitated by the acquisition of Bezier’s senior debt with a face value of over £70 million, and will see H.I.G. inject significant new capital into the business.

In the past several years, Bezier, with revenues of approximately £100 million, has transformed itself from a traditional manufacturer of point of sale products to become a full service marketing agency with a track record of enhancing sales and saving its clients money. Its blue chip customer base includes Argos, Boots, Coca-Cola, Disney, Johnson & Johnson, Procter and Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser, Revlon and Unilever.

Paul Canning, M.D. of H.I.G. Europe, said, “We are delighted to be backing Bezier into the next stage of its development. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Under the agreement, Perrit will sell and provide IT device lifecycle and configuration management services based on Miradore’s technology.

According to the company, the cloud-based Miradore 3.0 provides IT device management with a single dashboard view and remote access to a broad range of end-user devices, including PCs, servers, printers, network equipment and smartphones. The solution gathers asset and configuration data at configurable intervals, performs zero touch bare metal installations and distributes new applications or packages to end devices.

THE MEDICAL Advertising Hall of Fame announced its 2009 inductees: LM&P founder Ron Pantello, Dorland’s Harry Sweeney and Interbrand Wood Healthcare’s David Wood.

In addition, the MAHF will honor market research pioneer Raymond Gosselin with its Lifetime Achievement Award at its annual awards dinner, held Feb. 10 at New York’s Pierre Hotel.

Pantello began his career in advertising in account services at Sudler & Hennessey before leaving the agency in 1980 to found Lally, MacFarland & Pantello, which later became part of Havas’ Euro RSCG Life network. Pantello retired as chairman of Euro RSCG Life last year. He co-founded the MAHF in 1996 and served as its chairperson until 2005.

Sweeney started out in medical advertising as a copywriter at Lederle Laboratories and went on to work at Sudler & Hennessey, L. W. Frohlich, Klemtner and Shaller Rubin. In 1971, he bought the Dorland Agency and built it into a top medical advertising shop. He helped found the Medical Advertising Agency Association and the Coalition for Healthcare Communications.

Wood founded Interbrand North America in 1979 and left in 1986 to start David Wood Asso- ciates, which was later acquired by Omnicom and merged into Interbrand Wood. He passed away last year at age 64.

Gosselin created the first significant market research measurement in healthcare, and went on to develop Audatrex. His firm, R. A. Gosselin, was absorbed into IMS Health. He passed away in 1999.
