Get rich quick schemes are out with 2009. In 2010, it’s all about building your business from the ground floor-up. That includes looking at your online efforts from the perspective of a brick and mortar entrepreneur.

You want to know which titles you’ll wear in the business - will you just manage everyone working for you (meaning freelancers and service providers)? Will you have a hands on approach to the graphics or content? Or will you oversee the marketing and advertising development for your products and let outsourced professionals handle all the rest?

You need a plan, and part of that plan is to evaluate each of your opportunities to see which business model would best suit your personal preferences and your financial needs. It might be info product creator, software developer, service provider, membership site coordinator - there are many options for you to consider.

Many people were taught how to build AdSense sites for awhile. No one ever told them it isn’t as big of an income as an info product site for the same amount of work generating traffic to the domains. You can’t just trust the judgment of someone else - you have to take responsibility for checking out all of your options and making the best choice for you.

For the 2010 year, you want to look at things a bit differently. Rules are being implemented left and right - with the FTC, with article directories - even with third party affiliate marketplaces like ClickBank.

So everything you do needs to be above the board. Long gone are the days when black hat tactics were something to envy. Now it can potentially end your business in a flash - nothing no smart entrepreneur would do to risk their livelihood.

Start with a niche that won’t get you into trouble. Yes, some of them stand to help you make a fortune, but is it something where you’ll have a lot of trouble posting content online?

Then move on to what you can learn - and from whom. Are there ample guides to teach you about this marketing strategy? Do the marketers teaching it have good reputations or will they be instructing you to “get away with” things that might jeopardize your business?

Don’t risk it! Pursue something that is ethical and that provides you with happiness in addition to the financial success you’re after. It’s not all about the money. Sometimes the joy you get out of building your business is what can sustain you through the years until you achieve the highest level of accomplishment you can imagine.

RSS or Really Simple Syndication is used to distribute news and content to websites and visitors. RSS Feeds are available in a light weight xml format and can be generated for a blog or a static website. RSS Feeds are chiefly used to syndicate content such as announcements, new articles, news updates, videos and job openings.

If you ever visit a popular blog, notice the variety of feed readers placed in strategic position to capture your attention. Their main aim is to encourage you to subscribe to the feed. When you click on the feed link, you are transported to a web page containing information to sign up for the feed.

Syndicate your website content to ensure that the latest information is always easily accessible to your visitors.

6 Simple Steps to Syndicate Your RSS Feed:

1. Apply Feed Reader Syndication. Some notable feed readers are Google Reader and MyYahoo!. All you have to do is, add a subscribe button on your blog and personalize it for the common types of readers available.

2. Include an Email Subscription Box. This is one of the quickest ways to get all the updates and latest information. Feedburner and Feedblitz provide email subscription capabilities and metrics. Visitors can simply enter their email address in the input box and subscribe to your blog’s RSS Feed. All the latest news and articles will be directed to the specified email.

3. Submit RSS Feed Directly To Major Search Engines. All the major search engines have made it really simple to submit your blog’s feed. All you need to do is log into Google, MyYahoo! and MyMsn and submit your blog feed to them. This is also one of the easiest ways to get your blog indexed by searchbots.

4. Ping Search Engines. There are a number of pinging services available online where you can enter your blog or feed URL and ping the search engines. A pinging service like Ping-O-Matic gets your blog indexed at multiple websites like Technorati, Feedster etc.

5. Use PHP Syndication. It is commonly known that searchbots cannot index JavaScript. So, if you want your feed links to get indexed, JavaScript Syndication is not a favorable option. Here, PHP syndicated code has the upper hand over JavaScript syndication. It provides backlinks and helps in indexing web pages.

6. Provide JavaScript Code for Syndication. JavaScript syndication is used to display a third party RSS feed on your website. There are a lot of JavaScript syndicators online, which provide code. Simply put the code in the sidebar of your website or blog and visitors can copy and paste it onto their website.

Statistics prove that RSS Feeds are useful in pulling a large number of visitors to a blog. Today no blog is complete without an RSS Feed option. Even Twitter, the micro blogging site provides an option to subscribe to individual RSS Feeds.

American Writers and Artists, Inc, (AWAI) named Pam Foster latest winner of the $10K Copywriting Challenge at their 2009 Bootcamp in Delray Beach, Florida

Eugene, OR (PRWEB) February 25, 2010 — Web Content Provider and Content Strategy Consultant, Pam Foster was named the latest winner of American Writers & Artists, Inc.'s, (AWAI) $10K Copywriting Challenge at their 2009 Bootcamp in Delray Beach, Florida.

This prestigious copywriting award has traditionally gone to any AWAI member who writes a control-beating sales letter for AWAI's Accelerated Program for Six-Figure Copywriting. The winner receives a $10,000 contract to produce sales copywriting work (offline or online) for AWAI. Pam won the award for developing a web content process for SEO.

According to AWAI Executive Director, Katie Yeakle, "Pam took our $10K Copywriting Challenge to the next level. She saw a need for a product to help web writers that we did not have. She submitted a spec for that idea which immediately got our attention. That spec turned into a promo and a product - The Web Copywriter's Clear Path to Profits. I'm looking forward to working with Pam on future promos and products."

Rebecca Matter, Co-Managing Partner and Director of Online Marketing for AWAI commented, "Pam Foster shows that you have two choices in this business - you can wait for opportunities to present themselves, or you can create them for yourself. She used her strong copywriting foundation and understanding of the web to make something happen for both herself and her client. (In this case, AWAI!)"

Rebecca added, "Pam's a shining example that success comes to those who create opportunities. She's someone all up-and-comers should follow and someone marketers should hire before it's too late."

While accepting her award, Pam had this to say to her fellow copywriters, "I am living proof that all copywriters truly have a chance to achieve their goals. Winning the $10K Challenge was one of mine since the day I learned about AWAI. And now I'm the 2009 award winner. Copywriting opportunities continue to expand across AWAI and the web, so no mater what you're passionate about, there's a need for strong copy. You can even create your own product and promotions like I did, so go for it!"

According to Copyblogger, "AWAI's copywriting training program has become the most highly touted course in the copywriting industry." The copywriting challenge is always open for active members to participate, with a chance to win $10,000 and the opportunity to take their career to a new level.

Using her 29-year marketing and copywriting experience working with corporate clients, Pam created the Content Clear Marketing Method for Website Optimization: a web content system designed to help business owners or marketing directors realize their marketing goals of generating more leads, selling more products and services and signing up new members.

The method of profit sharing has been here for quite a long time, long before the internet. But the idea of affiliate marketing has taken it to new levels, and become a essential form of advertising and fetching in business for all types of e-commerce.

Internet merchants look at affiliate marketing highly advantageous due to the fact that it presents a small amount to no risk both for the merchant and the affiliate. The way it works best is that the affiliate makes a share of the profit or fixed amount based on the number of sales the affiliate gets to the seller, either by way of on-line links on the affiliates website - or by way of email, blogs, RSS feeds and lots of other methods of on-line communication.

A few merchants (only about 1% of affiliate marketing) use a cpc (cost per click) remuneration technique, which obviously means that the affiliate makes money every time an internet searcher clicks on an advert on email or their site. Nevertheless, because of fraudsters taking advantage of this method (making ad-ware, sending spam, or rubbish indexing sites) this type of remuneration is not wanted as much and becomes not very wise for merchants to use.

Affiliate marketing also brings no cost on the merchant in the original set-up - in other words, it costs nothing to set advertising banners on affiliates sites, and there is only a cost if a lead or sale has been made (which is fantastic for everyone.) Merchants also have the chance to create the parameters, and think of the incentive schemes. This makes all this very inexpensive (but really efficient way) to create online business.

1. Never forget the purpose of a sales letter is to get the reader to buy the offer. You need to persuade them and interest them so much that they feel that they cannot do without your product or service.

2. Visitors, especially if they’ve been searching, do not want to know about possibilities or promises. They want results: more money or more subscribers.

So, tell them you have results, the sort they want, and show them what they are.

3. You could then elaborate on this by listing the benefits they’ll get from taking up your offer.

4. If they accept your proof (and they may as well read on to find out more), the second thing they want to know is how to achieve the same or better results.

You could emphasise the step by step nature of the process, if that is suitable.

5. If they accept your explanation or indications of how to get the results, they’ll want to know the cost. If your product works exactly as you say and it solves a money-making or subscriber problem in a big or unique way, obviously you can charge more and this will be accepted.

However, in both cases you must provide high value in that product or service. That is, just as it stands it must be something they feel they cannot do without in order to achieve their objectives. But, in addition, you can offer high value complementary bonuses and an all out guarantee where you take all the risk, in order to make it a totally irresistible offer.

Louisiana Economic Development recently earned two Internet Advertising Competition, or IAC, Awards from the Web Marketing Association, which recognizes excellence in online advertising and marketing. In the government category, LED’s Web site won “Best Government Web site,” and LED’s digital media online advertisement won “Best Government Online Ad.”

“LED’s Web site and digital media campaign are two components of our strategic marketing program to improve the perception of Louisiana’s business climate and communicate the business advantages of locating in our state,” said LED Secretary Stephen Moret. “We’re pleased that our marketing efforts continue to receive positive national recognition. Strong marketing is one of the ways that we’re attracting more good jobs and business investment to Louisiana.”

In April 2009, LED launched its new, best-in-class economic development Web site, OpportunityLouisiana.com. LED conducted internal and external qualitative research to design a new site that streamlines content, and provides user-friendly tools and resources to small businesses, in-state companies and businesses considering relocations to Louisiana. LED reviewed and assessed all 50 state economic development Web sites before designing its new site.

Targeting digital media industry executives, LED’s digital media campaign promotes the state’s 35 percent digital media incentive. The campaign uses programming language as a creative element to speak directly to a highly technical, innovative industry. Launched in November 2009, the online ads ran on targeted Web sites, including Wired.com, Mashable.com, Venturebeat.com, Centernetworks.com, Gamedev.net, Killerstartups.com, Programmableweb.com, Readwriteweb.com, Redherring.com, Dmwmedia.com and Informationweek.com.

The 2010 IAC award judges consisted of leaders in Internet advertising and represented such companies as Google, IBM Interactive and Razorfish. Judges measured creativity, innovation, impact, design, copywriting and use of the medium in several industry categories. This year marked the eighth annual IAC Awards, which is one of the only competitions that solely measures online marketing.

For more information about the 2010 award winners, visit http://www Iacaward.org.

The Web Marketing Association was founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and Web development. The organization includes marketing, advertising, public relations and Web design professionals from around the world who are focused on improving the quality of advertising, marketing and Web site development.

Whether you are an early technology adopter or not, there is no denying that the careful application of certain technology tools can help you more effectively automate your marketing processes.

Automation allows you to contact more clients and prospects more frequently with less work - all good things.

The following is a list and brief description of my Top 10 Marketing Automation tools. (What got them on the list is that I use each one personally)

AWeber - This is a service that allows me to automatically manage my email database, send auto responses to requests and send this newsletter. There are many choices for this type of service but AWeber is the best. - http://www.aweber.com/?204167

TypePad - This is a hosted blog software that is simple to use but very powerful. With a Pro account you can set-up as many blogs as you wish. Blogs are great but what about using the technology as a client portal. You can password protect a TypePad blog and use it to share information and files with clients.

AudioGenerator - Publish audio content to your website. Create audio testimonials. All you do is call a phone number, record your message like voicemail and pick-up the code to put the audio on your web site. This is a great way to get audio testimonials from clients.

Feedburner - This is a service I use to extend the power of my RSS feeds. Feedburner makes the feed compatible with any reader, gives me tools to promote subscriptions and even automatically alerts the major blog and RSS directories every time I add new content to my blog.

Google News Alerts - Type in as many search terms as you like, even your name and your company name, and Google will deliver an email alert of any mention of your search terms in the Internet new wires. This can be a great way to track some of your own PR and and keep tabs on competitors and industry trends.

BlinkList - Your surfing around the Internet and you come upon a web site that you want to remember. Hit a button and add the site to a BlinkList folder. The service is free and allows you to create and store web page URL’s in a way that you can access them at a later date. This is a great research tool. An added benefit of this online service is that you can publish your lists as RSS feeds. Surf around and find lots of great resources that relate to your business and with one line of code you can paste this list on a web page. When you change the list, it automatically updates on your site.

Submit Your Article - This service allows you to submit up to four articles each month and then distributes the articles to hundreds of web sites, article directories and ezine publishers. There is a charge for this service, but it is well worth the exposure and traffic you will gain from consistent use.

PRLeads - Dan Janal’s PR Leads service sends you leads from reporters who are working stories that relate to your business or expertise. Several times a day you will receive an email with contact information of reporters who are requesting information. This service has led to several major PR mentions for me including two appearances in Entrepreneur magazine.

PRWeb - A free press release distribution service. This service allows you to post press releases and see them automatically distributed around the Internet. For a $30 donation you also get inclusion in Google and Yahoo news. With the amount of sites that republish those news feeds you get great exposure whether a reporter calls or not.

ACT - This customer relationship management software allows you to keep detailed information on clients and prospects as well as keeping tabs on mailings and lead generation campaigns. Add a new contact and you can set-up ACT to alert you to mail the new contact series of letters automatically.

There you have it! Now, that should keep you busy for the rest of the week.

If you are a business owner or marketing executive in a business, I’m sure it’s old news to you that a major shift in the buying habits of people began in the late 90’s and now involves an estimated 83% of the population. Yep, According to the Kelsey Group, 83% of the populations now first search online before buying their products or services. For many businesses local internet marketing has become a primary for generating revenue. However, most business have missed an incredible opportunity with internet marketing that has been staring them right in the face.

If your business’s market is local in nature and its survival is dependent on conventional advertising, this spells bad news. Simply put, most people research what they want on the internet before they buy. If a company has adequate exposure on the front page of Google, and provides the information they are looking for, bingo, that company just acquired a very hot lead.

Why the big shift to the internet?

People now shop the internet because they can find out so much more about a business online. However, it goes further than that. They gravitate to the businesses online that offer the best and most information relating to their need. They view businesses that do this as the authority on the subject and are much more likely to buy from them.

One website will not give your business the exposure it needs

If you only have one website that is poorly placed on the internet it will not bring any traffic of consequence. In many cases, even a website well placed on the front page of Google will not drive the traffic you need if you are targeting a local market. It of course depends to a large extent on how much search volume there is for the keywords being used in their internet marketing campaign.

Pay Per Click Campaigns Miss 80% Of Traffic

If you are relying on Pay Per Click ads to promote your business on the internet, you’re missing about 80% of the traffic. Google’s statistics show that about 70% to 85% of the traffic will click on the natural search ads and Google Local search results. It varies between these two percentages depending on the type of business you are in. Why is this? Because potential customers need information before they are sold. That’s the beauty of the internet.

Your Company Must Have High Visibility, Authority and Dominate Local Natural Search

Customers are looking for the company that comes across as the authority in the market they are searching, and can give the valuable information they desire. Because of the competition online, just having a nice website on the front page of Google is not enough anymore.

As a business owner, you have to think in terms of 3 types of exposure online.

1. Visibility - How many times will they find you on the front page.

2. Authority - Have you established your company as the THE company to do business with online (Authority). When the potential customer returns ready to buy your service or product, are you the one they return to? You better be!

3. Dominance. Have you chased most of your competition off the front page of Google in the local, natural search. You need too!

I recognized the internet marketing opportunity staring me in the face and jumped on it.

I personally own a home improvement corporation that fell victim to the huge shift in buyer habits. Off line advertising that use to work great in the 1990’s either was legislated away, and or just quite working well because of the huge buyer shift to the internet. I shifted my efforts to internet marketing.

After recognizing the huge opportunity that apparently few were seeing, I formed a local internet marketing corporation that I not only used to liberate my struggling home improvement corporation, but other companies as well. Using the Visibility, Authority, and Dominance pillars of promotion, we have produced amazing results. Of course a lot of work and time goes into a local internet marketing campaign of this size. Most internet marketing firms do not possess the skill or the organizational structure to pull off a campaign like this and still make money. However, when properly organized with the proper systems in place, it is possible. We do it every day.

Seiss Taylor is COO Of an Atlanta Ga internet marketing firm called Web excel Inc.. Your written word is essential to attracting Prospects. Not only will it determine the success of your marketing efforts, it will also affect the quality or “readiness” of your potential prospects. Learning how to write mlm ad copy and basic copywriting tips will dramatically increase your results. Think about it - your first impression with most prospects is some written word, ad, email, solo ad, Ezine, Website, Capture page, Podcast… you get the idea!

There are vast amounts of excellent information about copywriting and ways to use the written word to promote your business, thoughts or opinions, or yourself, all with the intention of having the prospect or reader take some type of action. This is not surprising considering effective writing is one of the most significant elements of on-line marketing. I suggest that you absorb tips on how to write mlm ad copy as much as you can. And as you collect different pointers, try to use them in everything you do to market yourself.

Before I share copywriting tips and common mistakes people make, here’s a trick I use to write an MLM ad. I have learned to “review my list”. My list of copywriting tips that is. Then after I draft an email or write an MLM ad, I refer to the list of pointers to confirm that I have met the key points. It’s a great way to make sure I stay consistent.

Remember, you want your copy to sell. Your written word should convince and persuade the reader to act. It’s all selling and the best way to get better at it, is to do it, a lot. Regardless of a book of rules or your innate talent, to master the art of copywriting you have to practice.

Here are some tips to follow:

1. WRITE COPY that’s effective, which means considering what your customer or prospect is thinking. To draw them in will require you to identify with them or their thoughts.

Headline is the most imperative, then sub-headline. The headline should answer the reader’s question, why do I care, what’s in it for me, why are you bothering me…?

In the body make sure you cover “Credibility” and why YOU or your products are the choice they should make.

Guarantees are very important especially if you are marketing on the Internet. If you cannot offer a guarantee for your product, service or advice then maybe you need to be finding “something” new to sell! Long term success and low refund rates are based on under promoting and over providing to your customer!

2. PROMOTION is another great way to grab attention and persuade using results.

Case studies relevant to what you are promoting are great. If you don’t have any yet, borrow from your industry, upline, etc.

Offers should be clearly stated, be direct about what you want the reader, prospect to do. It’s always best to include a deadline when the offer will no longer be available, beneficial or cost effective - if they don’t act now.

Storytelling is always a good selling strategy. Stories are easier to read, more memorable, and convincing. Separate points, leave some white space on the page, and keep the text more interesting to the reader’s eye.

FOUR of the top ten points to ensure strong ad copy:

- Tell the whole story. Make sure that you share enough information for readers to make a decision or at least to take the next indicated step you are asking of them.

- Leave open space. Be sure to use the most valuable technique–leave white space on the page keeping the presentation easy to read and more appealing.

- Give direction. Clearly state how the readers can easily take action.

- Make it meaningful. Remember that emotion sells more than any other factor. Therefore, make sure your written text is enjoyable and worthy of the reader’s time.

This is a good start and there are more effective tips I will share on How to Write MLM Ad Copy. There are also very good systems that can help you to publish your written word all over the Internet. The best systems include complete training on numerous strategies including more copywriting tips to make you a more effective on-line marketer.

Many newbies are confused between the affiliate marketing model and the reselling product model. If you want to start a business online, you will want to understand the differences so that you will know which model is suitable for you.

When you are following the affiliate marketing model, you will be promoting other people’s product. You will receive certain percentage of the sales as commission when you are able to get someone to purchase the product through your affiliate link. Basically, you do not need to make any payment in advanced as most of the affiliate programs are free to join. You will be able to start the marketing activity immediately which ensures that you earn consistent profits as long as you are driving consistent traffic back to your website.

For the reselling product model, there is a high probability that you will need to invest some money in advance so that you will have the rights or license to sell the product. If you are doing an online business selling information product, this will means that you have either purchased either the private label rights or resale rights license of the product. You will need to set up your own website, handle the customer support and other activities that product owner need to do. You will be getting 100% of the sales if you are able to get the customer to purchase the product from your website.

Although both models are different, you will still be able to make money from both the models. You will want to select the model that is suitable for you. If you are just starting out and you do not have much marketing experience, I will recommend you to start with the affiliate marketing model as you will only need to set up a simple squeeze page and start the marketing activities.
