To be really successful at Pay per Click (PPC) marketing, you need to optimize your campaigns all the time. Every week would be ideal. If you can’t, try to do it at least every two weeks. When we optimize our clients’ Pay per Click campaigns, there are three main things that we do for them.

Ad Position Optimization

People don’t go to the fourth page of PPC ads to find what they’re looking for. If your ads don’t show within the first positions of the first page, very few people will click on them. However, ads in the first position always get a lot of unqualified clicks because people tend to click before they read. For that reason, advertisers in the first positions end up paying for a lot of junk traffic.

Try to get your ad between positions 2 and 6. On Google AdWords there are two ways you can increase your ad position: by raising the bid amounts and by making the ad more relevant -or a combination of both. On Yahoo! Search Marketing and Microsoft AdCenter, ad relevancy is not an influential factor; they only car about bid amounts.

There is one case where it really makes sense to be number 1. Google can sometimes put your ad above the organic results instead of on the right side of the screen. If your ad is very relevant and your bid is high enough, you’ll get there eventually. Ads at the top get much more traffic than ads on the right side.

Ad Copy

You should always be running split-tests. They are free, setting up the test will take you less than a minute and most of the time a tiny change can boost your Click-Through Rate (CTR). Last week we replaced the word “amazing” with the word “great” for one of our clients and CTR went up 46%. That’s a huge improvement and all it took was a tiny change. Unless you constantly test, you won’t know what works and what doesn’t.

Use PPC as a market research tool for the real world. You can run two ads; one featuring your low prices and another one featuring your high quality. Then you can figure out if online buyers in your industry are more price-driven or quality-driven.

Conversion Rate

The conversion rate optimization is the most important component of a PPC campaign optimization. You need to figure out what keywords convert very well and which ones convert poorly or don’t convert at all. Then there are a few things that you should do about non-converting keywords: get rid of them, add negative keywords to your campaign (if people are searching for “free widgets” and you sell widgets, add “free” to the list of negative keywords) and/or lower the bids for these keywords. If you have keywords that convert very well, this is what you need to do: perform more keyword research and add similar keywords to your campaign, create an ad group for these specific keywords so you can keep a closer eye on them, increase the bid value and use these keywords to do Search Engine Optimization (SEO) or PPC using other search engines. Yahoo!, Ask and MSN won’t send you as much traffic as Google, but they can send you a fair amount of traffic that might convert better than Google AdWords’.

There are only 2 things you need to get going at opening up this kind of revenue stream. The easy part is opening a PPC or pay per click advertising account. But that’s the last step in getting yourself set up to be making money using pay per click. Here’s where the work part comes in. In order to open one of these PPC advertising accounts you must have a completed website or active blog. Not that your blog has to be years old or your website must be exceedingly huge and involved. Still you must have one or the other to be accepted into the fold.

Starting up a blog is by far the easiest way to establish a site the PPC ad company will approve. The thing is that you need to figure out which way you are going to go with your blog. You can make a plan and choose the kinds of products you want to promote according to payout per sale or click so you can center your blog on that niche topic. Or you could just carry on with something that you know well and the PPC ads will be selected to fit your knowledge. It is highly suggested that you create a blog that is standalone or has its own dot com address because you’ll make more money this way.

Starting a website geared for making money using pay per click ads is totally different. It is also a lot more planning and labor intensive. With this scenario you need to do a lot more research and concentrate more on your niche because the website has to focus on one particular topic. If Google can’t figure out what your site is all about your ppc ad account won’t be approved for AdSense. Merchants want polished looking and well optimized websites to put their ads on. So go with the flow when going this route.

Dear valued readers…. This Sam again. In my previous article, i have writen an article on Spyware Nuker.

Just for anyone who might have missed my previous article. I realised that there are many websites online that promote the use of Syware Nuker as a spyware scanner and killer.

Please do not believe them. Spyware Nuker is a malware itself and you can verify it by going to symantec website and type Spyware Nuker in the search bar.

Ok… Its time to write something related to the title of this article.

Yes… This time i am going to mention the importance of Internet Marketing.

Before i start this topic, i would like to ask you. Do you own a website?

I am pretty sure that the answer would be a YES. Without a website, you will lose out to your competitors who are maximising the used of their website. I would not want to elaborate on the importance of having a website as i have already written on this before and beside, i am sure you know the importance.

Next question ok… Do you know that there are billions of websites on the World Wide Web? That means a lot of competition. People might not even know that your website existed in the first place.

That is where Internet Marketing comes in. What is Internet Marketing?

Internet Marketing covers a lot of areas.

1) Search Engine Optimization(Allow people to find your website through search engines such as Google and Yahoo…etc) is a part of Internet Marketing.

2) E-mail marketing is also part of Internet Marketing.

3) Driving Traffic to your website is Internet Marketing

4) Attracting visitors and make them stay on your website is Internet Marketing

5) …etc

Why do you need Internet Marketing?

Answers are pretty simple.

1) More enquiries and lead to more sales

2) Maximise the potential of your website

3) Cut Operational and marketing cost in other areas such as phone call enquiries…etc

4) Expanding your business to the world and this means a larger market

5) Possibilities of other business opportunities such as Internet Business

6)…etc because i might make the whole article very long and wordy if i continue.

I am sure that you will be able to explore the benefits further.

So, to conclude, Internet marketing is very important to business nowadays. You will lose a lot of business opportunities and profits if this core area of marketing is not exploited.

If you wish to be a successful Internet marketer you will want to avoid these 8 mistakes:

1. Failure to prepare properly. Many Internet marketers are simply lazy and will not make the effort to prepare properly. Refrain from being overly anxious as if you’ll miss the boat if you do not market your website immediately. Use however many days it takes to setup all the appropriate advertising accounts and advertisements properly. This will make your administration more efficient and enable you to fly through your schedule tasks effortlessly each day. The net result is that your marketing efforts will be far more productive than if you were to take a haphazard approach.

2. Failure to implement an advertising strategy. You must have a plan with well defined goals if you wish to have positive marketing results. Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Do not try to recreate the wheel. Find out what successful people are doing and do the same. Regarding goals, write them down. When you achieve a goal mark it as “completed” and replace it with another. By doing this very simple step you can monitor your effectiveness and progress.

3. Failure to be professional. Some of the ads on the Internet are of embarrassingly poor quality. Be professional in your business approach and in the design of your ads. If you lack the ability to produce professional ads then find a resource that can. The quality of your website and advertisements is a reflection on you. Also, when dealing with customers always be courteous and professional even when they are not. If you are professional you will shine above the rest and earn customer confidence.

4. Failure to implement and adhere to a disciplined schedule. If you don’t have a realistic schedule in place then you will not be disciplined in marketing your ads properly. Consistency not volume is the key to success in marketing on the Internet. A schedule allows you to be consistent and also forces you to be disciplined. The Internet is not a “get rich quick” environment. It takes hours of dedicated and consistent work. You must be committed to putting in the time if you wish to have good marketing results.

5. Failure to utilize the right tools. There are some very innovative tools on the Internet to make the operation of your business more efficient. Many of them are very affordable and they will save you from having great frustration. Some marketers take the approach of being a “penny wise and a pound foolish.” In saving their pennies they are losing out on making the bigger dollars. Don’t ignore the many tools which are available.

6. Failure to build a downline. Your downline is the cornerstone of your business. A downline is your customer list or they can be referrals that join certain advetising programs through you serving as an affiliate. Verious advertising sites offer you some type of compensation for bringing them referrals. Don’t ignore the value of these referrals. Some Internet marketers are so anxious to advertise their product they fail to have an understanding of the bigger picture. A big downline can save you money in your advertising and enbable you to advertise more effectively. When soliciting always get the email address of your customer for future solicitations and sales.

7. Failure to track ads. Much time is wasted on unproductive sites and ads. If you’re not tracking them you will continually work in ignorance. You must have a measure of what is working and what is not. Is the program that you are participating in yielding the desired results? Are your ads well written and effective in drawing customers? You will never have the answers to these important questions unless you track your ads. You can waste a great deal of time on poor advertising programs and bad ads if you never track the results.

8. Failure to understand the advertising medium. You must understand how each type of advertising program works if you’re going to be an effective marketer. Whether you use pay-per-click advertising or membership driven sites like safelists, traffic exchanges and text ad exchanges all have their own personality. Not only do you need to understand the mechanics of each but also the general personality of their membership.

With the recent rise of the affiliate marketing industry as a true online wealth building powerhouse, a steady stream of aspiring entrepreneurs are taking full advantage of the affiliate marketing boom.

Unlike the older online business models which would call for the tedious tasks of website design as well as product design and placement, the affiliate industry allows marketers to generate significant revenue with hardly any setup cost.

Successful online business owners, the savvy bunch that they are, recognized the great potential such a hungry and egger sales force presented.

For the companies with product to sell, affiliate programs allow them to greatly increase product exposure on a paid for performance commission basis.

For newly inducted online entrepreneurs, affiliate programs represent a real opportunity to make serious income online without much of the risk, research or investment associated with product development and placement.

While securing a solid financial base through affiliate programs, new online marketers also manage to hone their skills among the marketing elite of e-commerce.

Besides the financial aspect, affiliate marketing also provides a golden opportunity for those looking for long term gains and high end profits, to gain the experience necessary to take full advantage of all the unbelievable benefits the net has to offer.

This kind of experience has indeed put many on the fast track to building their own online empires one affiliate marketing program at a time.

Of course there is always the matter of deciding which program is right for you. There are as many options available as there are stars in the sky.

Be sure to do your homework to determine what your potential program has to offer. Even the best compensation plan won’t mean much, unless the product boasts a fair amount of demand, just as the hottest selling product should provide a fair return on your time and effort in making each sale.

Once you’ve chosen your affiliate marketing program and got down the basics of promoting your products and collecting reasonable rewards for your efforts, you’ll likely have no problem duplicating your success with additional products.

As you manage to continue to build your online empire you also have the option of creating your own products and services to leverage all your hard won experience and know-how.

This is by far the most easy to follow blueprint for success online.

First, gain knowledge and experience with little to no risk marketing affiliate products.

Once you have a formula that works, repeat your success with additional products.

Finally, gain the maximum leverage for you knowledge and expertise by creating and selling your own products or services.

Lastly, you may consider creating your own affiliate program to further increase your marketing exposure.

So, for those of you who are considering the possibilities, consider this. With the incredible amount of commerce that takes place online, some analysts estimate that those sales account for less than 5% of all transactions.

Ecommerce is still a relatively new commercial outlet that’s already revolutionized the way the world now does business. In the years to come many more fortunes will be made online than in any other sector.

The next incredible success story the world hears about could very well be your own.

If I have seen farther than others, it is because I was standing on the shoulders of giants.

Is Pay-Per-Click The Only Way to Get Traffic?

Not long ago, I relied on pay-per-click advertising to sell my products. It was very effective then because the bidding wars that have rocketed the cost of campaigns hadn’t happened.

When I came across it, I decided to test it out by making a comparison test with 2 other popular pay-per-click search engines.

In addition to the steep learning curve, it can also be expensive and psychologically damaging, as shafts of regret accompany a sense of having taken oneself for a ride by the over-liberal use of broad keywords. Yes one gets a lot of clicks, but sales do depend on whether the attracted traffic is targeted to the product.

Yes, pay-per-click is a step ahead of blind blanket advertising, but the rising costs force busy web marketers to consider other ideas too. At least, that’s my view. Especially when there are alternatives that have ditched keywords in favor of targeted traffic from a network of sites.

It is a form of advertising known as “contextual advertising”. My ads were shown on a network of sites instead of as the result of queries on a search engine. I spent $200 on each campaign to promote my e book ‘Cash From Your Camera’ (http://www.cashfromyourcamera.com)

This is what happened….

First, for the Google traffic, my average cost per click was 45 cents for the range of different keywords I was bidding on. I received a total of 449 visitors and 1 order. I also received 20 sign-ups to my newsletter providing a sign-up conversion rate of around 4.4% and ROI of 43%

Kanoodles’s traffic was disappointing although much cheaper. I actually received 1523 visitors for my $200 investment. This works out at less than 8 cents a visitor for the same keywords. But the campaign resulted in zero sales an only 2 sign-ups to my newsletter…not good!

Have Traffic was the real surprise package.

I received 1,000 visitors for my $200 and actually received 3 sales and 46 subscribers to my newsletter. The actual return on my investment was a 135% plus I received 46 leads with which to follow-up.

Only one of my three campaigns even broke even and that one only earned 135% ROI. I obviously need to optimize everything a bit better and then I could at least get a profitable return from both Google and Have Traffic. It really looks like Kanoodle is a bust no matter what I do. It’s a shame. In the distant past, I could count on decent traffic from them.

I guess it’s possible that the results may have been different if I had used different keywords for the campaigns

But overall, this test shows that it is still possible to find cost effective pay-per-click advertising. You just have to look harder (sometimes at unexpected sources) and optimize your ad copy quite a bit more than was necessary in the past for even solid known good sources of traffic like Google.

Have a blog. Everybody has a blog these days. Your sites need to have them too. Why?

For one thing, a regularly updated blog tells search engine spiders to come visit your website on a regular basis. This will get your pages indexed faster and can only help you rank better in the search engines.

A blog is also a way to brand yourself (or an Internet marketing pseudonym) for your audience. Blogs are expected to be a little more personal than other content on a website. Take advantage of this by using “write-like-you-talk” approach in your blog posts so that your customers feel more comfortable with you (and therefore more likely to buy from you).

Visit forums. Forums are another great way to build consumer trust and put your name out there in front of people. How can you do this? By helping people.

Sign up for the two or three most active forums in your niche. Then spend an hour or so each day reading posts and answering people’s questions. You should already have researched your niche well enough to be able to hand out some very good advice.

Once you’ve made twenty-five or so posts of really helpful and valuable information, go ahead and add your Web address to your forum signature. (Doing it too early can actually get you banned at some forums-unfair, but true.)

You can drive surprising amounts of traffic to your website this way. It won’t be just the people you directly helped who visit your website, either. Anybody who sees the kind of information you give away on the forum is a likely candidate for clicking your signature link. It’s one of the best advertising methods out there, and it’s totally free.

Build a list. Building an Internet marketing in your list is likely to be the single most profitable thing you will ever do online. Once you get people on your list, they are there to be marketed to whenever you feel like it (as long as you don’t feel like it five or six times a day). Having an email list can turn what would have been a bunch of one-time sales into a sustainable monthly online income.

Provide an opt-in form on your website. This can be a form people put their email addresses into when they decide they want more of the kind of information that’s in your blog or on your website.

This should also be shown to your customers when they buy from you as well. If it’s your product they’re buying, you can send them there after the purchase. If it’s someone else’s product (i.e., you’re making affiliate sales), give them the option to opt-in to your list (or not) before they reach the main sales page. This will turn one-shot sales into a potential long-term relationship of sales.

PPC” Or “Pay Per Click” - - Is one of the prominent ways Internet marketers drive visitors to their Product, Website, or Affiliate.

PPC is very lucrative. It makes money for both the PPC provider and the advertiser. The trick is to find a balance. If you pay too much for each click and get too few sales, then you as the purchaser have spent more on the advertising than it is worth. On the other hand, if you can target to a smaller audience of more motivated buyers, your chances of making a sale are much better. This is how “Niche Marketing” techniques really pay off.

There are a ton of websites on the Internet that propose to be able to show you how to utilize PPC in the best ways. Perhaps the best tool is your brain. Being creative and selecting niche product are perhaps the most important things you can do.

Here is what it all boils down to. You can be a little fish in a big ocean of marketers and products, or you can be the big fish in a small pond where the competition is less fierce and the buyers are more apt to spend money on your offering.

Every marketer wants to know how to find these markets and how to utilize PPC to make the most money.

Google is not the only PPC vendor, but it is the largest. Learning to cope with all the rules google has and the to be able to show up in the top 10 ads on Google without spending a fortune is very tricky.

The best approach is to Test . . . Test . . .and Test some more. The more you test , the more you find what works the best and maybe more important, what doesn’t work at all.
